9 out of 10 homeowners spend most of their time in the laundry rooms, than in their dining rooms. But very few of them tried to decorate their laundry. This room can have an attractive look whether it is large or small or located upstairs or down. Laundry room doesn’t have to be a place for routine work, it should be surrounded with your favorite things as well as when you decorate the rest of your home.
If your laundry room is large, you can place the cabinetry there for holding all your laundry supplies and also household cleaning supplies, ironing board, iron, wrapping paper, ribbon and crafts. There should be a sink for cleaning hand-washables and a wood bar on which you can hang freshly ironed shirts. You should also make a counter area for folding finished laundry which can serve as a great place for craft projects or a gift-wrap station. If you utilize front-loading washers and dryers the counter can be used on top of what would normally be wasted space.
In case of a small laundry room the upper wall cabinets can be also placed over your washer or dryer. You can find a lot of gadgets on the market which can suit for the small laundry room, for example, wall-mounted, closeable clothing hangers; storage units which can be installed between a washer and dryer; and collapsible brackets, which allow you to have a counter for folding laundry. But it can fold down when you don’t use it.
It is very important to keep your laundry room tidy and neat with all the decorative baskets and hampers on the market today. Also it doesn’t have to be a chore. Use light paint or wallpaper and bright colors for creating a cheery room. If your laundry room is connected with the public room you should use there the same decorating scheme. You are able to hang different pictures or decorative accessories. If there is some free space in the room it can be used for placing decorative containers to hold detergent and other cleaning supplies.
Your laundry room should be as enjoyable to you as the rest of your home.
